Annoying Things

This category has always included things like people talking too much, horrible laughs, getting stopped by police for no reason, people getting your order wrong, and taxes. Now I would like to include waking up for class, going, and then realizing that your class is canceled. You now have time to sit around and do nothing (or make a blog post) while you await your next class.

The trip to Lille and Brussels was pretty tight. Good archetecture, didn't spend too much money, and of course good beer and food.

Last night I went to PDG like I said I would and ended up saying that I'll never go there again. Unfortunately, a good burger in Paris costs 16 euros. That's like 19 dollars. That's also too much for a burger that isn't at least the size of your face. I mean, if you want a good burger, by all means, check it out, but if you are satisfied with a burger, just go to macdonalds. Or, if you're me, you'll start making burgers.

I'll probably post the STWMTGBIAC mix (or as is fitting, the completely-exhaust-yourself-listening-to-this mix) tomorrow.

I just thought everyone should see this: EPIC has been used to describe alot of things recently, (like Charles Barkley's mug shot) but this really takes the cake:

Enjoi

Edit: Another thing that is really annoying? The damn WMG copywrite stuff on Youtube. Automatic recognition software that just blocks happiness.

Travelling

I am going on a trip this weekend to Lille and Brussels. It should be fun. I don't know everything that's there, but I'm sure I'll find out quickly. I do know, however, that I will most likely bringing back some beer from brussels. They are master artisans, and I appreciate their art.

On the Mix update, virtual DJ has been freezing up on me. Imagine, a lame program is getting lamer by the day... However, it will be finished within 7 days. I promise.

Tomorrow, I pay for the ski trip and I will be able to stop worrying about whether or not I am going. This will also result in random excitement for the next 3 and a half weeks until the trip accompanied by feelings of paralyzing nervousness and genuine happiness.

In other news, Marc and I will eat at PDG (which like everything in France has a horrible website). Despite their web ineptitude, they make the best hamburger in Paris and some say in europe. We will see, PDG. If my cheeseburger doesn't look like this, we don't have a deal.

MUSIC!

I don't really have anything new to post, so I'll give you a bloc party jam I got a while ago

One Month Off (Metal On Metal Remake) - Bloc Party

and I'll go ahead and repost a song that I've been listening to every night for the past week

Planet Health - Chairlift

So that wraps it up. See ya in 5 days.

Late post:
I found this song randomly playing Itunes on shuffle. I like it and it's kinda fun. The video is cool too. He also sounds like Julian Casablancas of the Strokes which I'm sure is more recording technique than anything else, but whatever.

Honest Mistake - The Bravery

Locked Up (They won't let me out)

Because I am happy that I won't have any worries for at least a few days after thursday evening, I want to post some fun jams.

But first, cause I'm sure everyone wants to know about the bike sitch, I got a new lock, and DU ain't going to like it next year cause it's not a U-lock. I think I'd rather have a good chain lock than a cheap U-lock (which happen to cost only 10 euros different. Plus, I can lock up around bigger stuff and it would take me the same 10 minutes to get through those thick ass links as it did to get through my masterlock U. So I can rest easy now. And bike.

THE Mix is still fun and is still progressing nicely. I have a feeling it will let everyone down though, I can feel the excitement and anticipation roaring through the interwebs.

Musicality time.

The Old Prince Still Lives At Home - Shad

Eye Know - De La Soul

Say No Go - De La Soul
I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) - Hall & Oates

These Girls Are Dressed To Kill (Russ Chimes Remix) - The Outrunners
(Dedicated to Tony because it has the possibility of being a jam he would like.)

California Soul (Diplo/Mad Decent Remix) - Marlena Shaw

Good God. DO NOT Microwave your sponge in an attempt to use it for longer than you should by killing the bacteria. That smell is HORRIBLE! It caught on fire in my nuker and it's still lingering despite the two windows moving air out.

Because I don't want people to not dl because of the quantity, I won't post more. Oh, and Ryan, don't get the Outrunners' song. It's 18 mb which will surely be the demise of your Dude-You're-Getting-A-Computer.

As a BONUS: Because, I like Terry Kennedy, because he has my initials, and is a crazy black man, I will definitely not post a great song by his rival entitled placing you on game.

I'm also sorry that I still haven't figured out how to create separate tabs for each link. I tried the right HTML code, so I don't know what's up. Just continue to use that ctrl key and be mad at me

Bike Thief?

So sometime today I will attempt to steal my own bike.

Story:
Last night, I went into the middle of the city on my bike. I like biking because it's fun, and i can get home anytime of night without having to take public transportation. When the metro closes at 2:00, I'm not worried about finding the right noctilien bus. Well anyway, I have these gloves that have pockets on the top of the hand for keys, change, whatever when you're running or biking. So because I knew these gloves were going to be close to me the whole time, I kept my U-lock key in one glove and my garage key in the other. So I lock my bike up at the St.Paul metro stop, meet up with some friends, walk to Chatelet, grab a pint, leave the bar to go get my bike, realize that I don't have my gloves in my back pocket, freak out, go back to the bar, don't find the gloves, walk exactly the same path that I walked to Chatelet from Chatelet to look for the gloves, find nothing, steal my back wheel and saddlebag off my bike without anyone saying anything, then go home to cry and hope nobody goes through my lock during the night. I just checked up with my friend Inna who lives at St.Paul and she said it (my bike) was still there. So now, I'm figuring out what to use to bust/saw through this u-lock. I really really hate police, (I even wrote a book entitled:

Talking To The Police

Should You Talk To The Police?

Chapter 1:
Nah......nah, nah, nah

The End)

but I'm almost at the point of going down there and asking for their help. Frankly, I don't want to get arrested for stealing my own bike. My dad is looking for a circular saw, angle-grinder attachment for his electric drill, but if I'm going to use that, I'll have to go back at like 3 am because I don't want to shoot sparks all on peoples' heads walking out of the metro station. I've read that a car jack can pop a U-lock apart, but that would be really awkward trying to make that work the way my bike is situated. This sucks.

Point: make 10 copies of your U'lock key and store them in different spots so you can always remember where you hid at least one of them.

Some songs that won't make me feel any better right now, but might work for you if you're feeling down:

Sparklin'
- La Chansons

Drop The Tough (Van She Remix) - Groove Armada

3:00pm Update: I'm going down there now with multiple pictures of my bike and multiple ID's and a hacksaw. Hope this works ...

6:00pm Update: I have my bike! Nobody said shit when i was cutting through the lock. What a stressful situation though...

If you want a crap-load of really good music, Ohh! Crapp... (which is located in the right side of this page) has that crap-load. Always good info about the songs, and always good quality (which is way more important than description). The groove armada track is thanks to Ohh! Crap...

Fun Night?

Yes.

Go to the Social Club.
There's a open bar until 12:30! I mean who does that? They do. (It might have just been for their 1 year anniversary, so check the myspace to be sure) So get there at 10:45 or 11, stand outside for maybe 30 to 45 min depending on how crowded it is, get free drinks (go to each barman at least once), and stay until whenever. It was awesome. If you want to increase the awesomeness, bike there...and wear a pink new york nicks hat...and wear a flannel shirt...and don't forget your diamonds. The girls will go crazy if you combine this awesomeness and you do the snap dance really well and make it work to some fun electro jams.
To be frank, most everyone there was just cooler than the people in other french clubs. They were more chill when they needed to be, more excited when they shoulda been, and they dressed like me, which was a style i didn't think existed in paris. oh, but it does.

Because every dj that I got to hear all the way through finished with some dubstep, I will direct you to a post i did way back in october when i was new at this thing I will repost the song that has a now non-working link.

Relax & Take Notes ft. Project Pat & The Notorious B.I.G. - 8 Ball & MJG

That's all well and good, but I really think you should listen to this one. It's a tight mix done by Ooah of the Glitch Mob. It's Exceptional for something so minimalistic. So without further ado:

Heat Up The Night - Ooah

Tomorrow I have some more La Chansons stuff that I'll put up. I've fallen in love with their sassy 80's pop.

Do the motorcycle...Can you ride??

Maine! I found a club that is going to hopefully provide the best club night I've ever had. I'll post on Saturday with my judgment, but tomorrow should be fun!
And in light of the fun that I will most likely be having here, I will post a song that is remixed very similarly on a group-that-is-going-to-be-playing-there's myspace. (Btw I Love the english language because I can do stuff like hyphenate 8 words and have it be both completely understood and gramatically incorrect at the same time.)

Show Out (Lil Prince Crunk Remix) - DJ UNK

And because I know not everyone likes a damn jam to get down to, you will also love this. It's by a group called La Chansons (which is French for A Song for everyone that doesn't speak this beautiful language (I guess that would include me as well)) They are pretty mellow, pretty funny, and a cute married couple if that wasn't enough.

You Put The Moves In Me - La Chansons

Here's a really awesomely retarded video they did. Listen to those Synths and all your problems will melt away. Scope the copy and paste job at 3:24

Me Love You Long Time

I haven't posted in a long time. Sorry.

I have actually laid down some recordings of the STWMTGBIAC mix. I did a test run all the way through and (needless to say) it was horrible. It was about...45 minutes i think. I'm just going to work by every 5 songs cause that is the only thing that makes sense since Virtual DJ is one of the worst things ever. Worst is better than nothing, yes, but that doesn't make it good or easy to be professional-sounding with. I got the intro (first 5 songs done in about an hour and a half tonight so I figure if I can do at worst that for all the other 6 segments, it'll be done in no time. So stay alert, it might drop hard on yall.

For the time being, I think these songs are really good, so since it's been so long, I'll post a few in a mellow to crunk order:

I Have A Vision ft. Erin Martin (Fred Falke Remix) - Roy Davis Jr.
(right click on that one. it's an mp3)

Sex And Candy (Marcy Playground Cover) - La Chansons

Dawn Of The Dead (Station X Remix) - Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Can't Belive It ft. Lil Wayne (Gods of Fashion Remix) - T-Pain
٭

Disco Sirens (Blacklight Flashlight Remix) - Midfield General

What Happened To That Boy (Howard Who vs Clipse Remix)
- Howard Who

Pedrophilia - Busy P
٭

I put little signs next to the songs that, if you are low on computer space or time, you should dl. Just remember everything's good, otherwise I wouldn't post it.
Hope everyone enjoys the music.

It's Coming Down, It's Coming Down

So it's sleeting in Paris. After a yesterday of cold but sunny weather, it just seems right to have a day of complete miserable weather. Added on top of that is the fact that I just ate way too much at a restaurant called Breakfast In America and I feel like getting sick thanks to the encompassing smell of paint thinner that has crept into my room from the guy working a floor down redoing the walls. I think i'm getting high and sick from smelling that shit. Horrible. I put a few scarves around the hallway door to block the smell from coming in but it's still lingering even after i opened the window for a few minutes. I woke up in such a good mood too...

I may have already posted a hundred times about Thrice, but I feel like I need to again... Air has become a daily listen. If you have a college email, you can get Ruckus (which is a completely free music player) and download all the 4 elements. Here's the link for Ruckus which I would highly recommend checking out (unless you have a mac that doesn't have the windows switch as it requires windows to work). Just sign up and it's free. And while you're at it get the
Alchemy Index 1 & 2 (Fire and Water)
Alchemy Index 3 & 4 (Air and Earth)

since that was really the whole point of this post anyway.
I would recommend listening to at least each element all the way through with the lyrics if you can't make it through all 4 in one go (which is pretty epic; i did it a while ago)

Here's Come All You Weary (off Earth) live. I like the recorded one better but it's still pretty good.

ps. the reason for the season has some news for you: here we go, hold on tight and don't let go, I won't ever let you fall...
