Skate!

With so much free time this week, I've had time to work, skate, relax, love life (tonight), realize that I'm in a good position right now despite alot of factors trying to tug me into a bummed out state, hope for others, eat popcorn, and enjoy techno.

Because I'm a nice guy that doesn't care all that much about legality, I will provide you with decent quality bootlegged versions of some trance songs I'm feeling that were on Tiesto's radio show.

Super 8 & Tab vs Nadia Ali - Crash & Elektra (Eteson Bootleg)

Jay D - Silver Lining ft. Matt Zo

Denga vs Manus - Lost Love (Vengence Remix)

Nisona and Enmass - Baseline Road

These are all awesome.

I learned front shuvs tonight! Thanks PJ!

Break in the Storm

To start this off, I'd like to give a shout out to Tiesto. He's in Denver tonight at the best-soundsystem-having-club in North America. I did not go because my 45 dollars will be better spent on something I need to have fun...like new snowboard boots or bike pedals/shoes or something.

I would like to do something tonight that I have never done. I'll make a few song mix and post it on here without having listened to it. I want to use an eclectic song collection involving andrew wk and some techno jams with something else weird thrown in there. I'll set the bpms first so it doesn't turn out really really miserable and see where it goes from there.

First, I have a few tracks that I've been jamming to recently. They are in no way related to a theme, but I like them and I think you will too.

Drake - Best I Ever Had (The Twinsmatic Remix)

Futurecop! - Gateau Blaster (Jesus Juice Edit)

Big Tuck - I'm A G
...full time hustla and i never laid a round...

Ludacris - We Got Them Guns ft. DTP & Chingy
...cough cough...

I'll post that mix on here in a few. I just gotta do it real fast and mp3 it.

Wow. That went really horrible. I hope you don't enjoy. No need to put it in 320.

too long

Sorry. I've been busy with the large sac of crap i call life. I actually can't remember what I wrote last time. Did I say that I had become a wizard? Well, if not I still have the proof in my room. School has been kicking my ass more than I remember it doing for a long time. I have alot of homework, I don't enjoy the stuff I'm learning that much and what's worse is that i'm not having the blast I should be having learning stuff in general. I guess what it really comes down to is the readiness for school to be done. I don't know what lies for me in my future, but I don't think it'll be less intersting than accounting or economics.

regardless, i've accrued a large wealth of music.
The new thrice album is a direct opposite to the brand new album, which, if you haven't heard it, will make you shiver. it is fantastically evil.

HOLY SHIT. I finally got out a piece of corn kernel that's been stuck in my gum for about a week. That thing's been bothering me incessantly for the whole week. I should really stop eating so much popcorn...

Back to music though. Tiesto's club life (iTunes podcast link) has been on while i've been studying or writing as of late. It's great background stuff and if you want to get some quality listening time in, you can simply turn it up when you hear something you like. that's what I do.

Also, i've rediscovered how incredible Pandora is. If you put any length of time into building up a station, you will get nothing but tasty treats that fit your musical desires. Never fails to not dissapoint.

For halloween i didn't want to spend the money or time creating a large red mau5 head so I went as wilson from home improvement. I got a few nice beers out of it at parties i went to. everyone thought it was original. i didn't, but i drank the beer. not key light? yum.

I'm enjoying skating more and more.

The snowdays we had last week were awesome. I now know of things I want to do on campus objects. Thanks to colin I filmed the coolest looking thing i've ever done on a snowboard. Urban jibbing is pretty fun. Unfortunately, videos have blown it out so much that anything you do looks small and insignificant. whatever, i had fun. If you didn't get snow last wed/thursday, sucks to be you, if you did, hope you enjoyed it.

I'm only putting up one song cause I'm still working on this freud paper...
It's fun and a mix of my all time favorite song. enjoi it.

Paid

Listen to this while you read. It's nice.

I got my first paycheck from coaching. Unfortunately, it's smaller than it should be (that's what she said). At least I got some money i guess. I'll just have to confront Bill, my boss, with Kyle cause he got shorted too.

I've been thinking alot and after looking at pictures of my never-faltering, major-league crush that lasted throughout highschool, I've come to the conclusion that not only am I not ready for a relationship, I'm COMPLETELY opposed to the idea of someone being attached to me in any non-friend way. I don't want to be loved romantically. I won't get into how I simply do not believe romantic love exists, but since most people except that it does, I'll just say that I do Not want that.

After this girl thing I went through (and I guess am still going through), I realized that what I dislike, and, in fact, what makes me angry, is someone wanting to like me more than I like them. That was the first time that's ever happened to me. It sucks. I don't have to go very much out of my way to say that being on the other side and just conceiling it is way better, easier, and consuming of less energy.

I've been thinking why it is that I don't want to accept affection and I haven't really come to a conclusion. Maybe it's cause I feel like everything like that thrown my way is fake love. People convince themselves that there is such a thing as romatic love when really it's only a combination of like and lust. Love is something much bigger than person on person. It's something that you have to live. Love should escape from you at all times directed at people in particular but based only on physical proximity. Everyone should get a piece of everyone else. Communism Love? Maybe.

I've downloaded about 3 gig of music over the past 2 weeks and am still getting through the huge batch I got today but I have some recommendations already. I guess I'll explain what the song is like since alot of the remixers and/or bands I knew nothing about until now.

1. The Reeling (Sammy Bananas' Big Choon Mix) - Passion Pit
If you've never heard of Passion Pit, that's incredible for one since they've been blowing up almost as much as Phoenix as of late. This song is a little slow on the start (probably because it's over 7 min), but when it gets into that little diddy that is played out like Schroeder plays in Peanuts [you know...with his pointer fingers]) it makes you feel happy. I like feeling happy.

2. Pon De Floor (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix) - Major Lazer
Your mind will melt if you've heard the original and like it. You aren't ready for this song. I'll give you a hint that might prepare you a little bit, but I don't want to give away too much. It's a fun song anyway and the video is ridonkulous, but I like listening to this to add an extra little jn sais kwa. mouille!

3. Starry Eyed (Jakwob Remix) - Ellie Goulding
This is actually an incredible song as is. However, because I really like dubstep done well (thishas a good example of that), I love this track. She has a great voice and I'm sure will get pop-success soon enough.

4. Little Booty Girl - Thunderheist
I'm only sharing this because I didn't find it myself. Truthfully, I'd like to keep it all for myself. My girl Kaitlin I met in france sent me the video and I checked out the group. They're cool, this song rocks, and you will have a fun time if it's playing somewhere. I'll guarantee that.

5. Amazon (Diplo Mix) - M.I.A. Diplo's Myspace
Somehow, I have never heard this. I like Ciara and I like M.I.A. but more than either of them, I like Diplo. If you ask me who my favorite dj I've ever seen live is, I would say him. Her flow is kinda weird like always, but it's a pretty good combo. I just wonder what song he went into after that one. hum...
Anyway, you should keep on lookin cause they stay in the jar...

So that's what I have for you. Enjoi

BONUS: some of the originals/other remixes that I like a little less than the ones up there ↑.

The Reeling (Calvin Harris Remix) - Passion Pit

Pon De Floor ft. Sean Paul (Team Yee Remix) - Major Lazer

Starry Eyed - Ellie Goulding

Sweet Dirty Dreams Disposition (Val Kolton Mashup Remix) - The Temper Trap

short post

i've been having alot of fun over the last two weeks of school. it's good to be back, but it's a little hectic. although my classes aren't hard, there are 5 of them. I've learned over this short period that while i was gone DU has decided that they want to become a legit school (one that makes their students work harder...er, longer hours). kinda lame. stuff that would usually take less time has now been lengthened so studying is less strenuous but daily activities and classwork/homework is more tedious. tonight, i have, because of a few possibly uncontrollable circumstances, alot to do that has not been started yet. 3 of my 4 classes have stuff due. I'm not thrilled about this because in 2 of those 3 the work is long and terribly pointless to life. i kinda like the grad-school mentality of 1 or 2 tests and a project better than homework due every class. it seems like i'm back in highschool after a repose of 3 years. bummed.

regardless, i've experimented with the downtown scene a little bit more thanks to my friends from the fixed gear community namely jason. if i haven't told you about my awesome weekend a while back, get me to tell you about it. it involved getting a bunch of free stuff and having a great time doing it.

last night i went to the highlands tavern for a few beers and then went to the shag lounge and the ginn mill (all downtown). i saw mfm at the shag lounge and said whats up to him. super cool. he has some of the best style and i believe he has pushed snowboarding towards a more expressive and skate-influenced state over his career. he's a business man that has pulled himself out the city and potentially gang-filled lifestyle toward which he was headed. bref: cool ass dude.

i've also never had a fight with a girl until now. it was brought about by the reverse of anything i have been involved with in the past. she likes me more than i like her, simple. i didn't/still don't know how to deal with this and i'm having to learn as i go. not that i really want to to be honest. me not wanting to burn a bridge has led to a few long nights that culminated in friday where i had the first verbal fight that i've ever had with someone. i know the remedy but i don't want to take the pill. lame.

anyway, i have a bunch of music that i want to post but as i am slammed with work i don't have time to put it up. so i'll throw a song up that mellowed me out and gave me butterflies tonight while starting my econ. it led me to want to post this and so i think you should hear it.

here:

Lake Heartbeat - Mystery

so i hope you enjoy that one as much as i do and i hope it makes you feel as uncomfortable as it makes me feel.

i've had great conversations as of late with a variety of people leading to more knowledge and more ability to comprehend others' situations. i like it.
good night.

Revolutionary Atom Fuse!!

It's been a while since I put anything up so I figured I owe it to my 2 loyal followers to throw some hot fire up here. Because I haven't put anything hip-hop or associated up in a long time, I'll keep it mostly that. Not that everything will be hip-hop, but everything will at least have a verse. Except the bonus stuff.

First up is a song I found 2 days ago. I really do like adele, so this beat had me hooked from the get-go. Jay-Z is pretty good and this is definitely going to get some playtime on my ipod.

Never Chasing Pavements (Urban Noize Remix) - Jay-Z

Second is from a mixtape I am currently downloading. It's 3000 and Bun B's verses from International Players Anthem (which, is fantastic [Willy Hutch all day]) and You'll Find A Way by Santogold.

You'll Find A Way Player ft. Andre 3000 & Bun B - Santogold

Third is a Cool Kids Joint. I mean, it's a song by the Bloody Beetroots, but the Cool Kids are on it. It's pretty fresh. You will hear it in bars/clubs if they play new music rather than the shitty top 40. Which brings me to the point that I am embarrassed by This. Dallas has a bad name now, thanks. The table is pretty tight though... Now for the cool kids.

Awesome ft. The Cool Kids - The Bloody Beetroots

Last is a remix of the really good but pretty old and over-used song Daylight by Matt & Kim. It has De La Soul spitting on the verse which makes it A-ok in my book. Check Check Check Check it out.

Daylight (Troublemaker Remix ft. De La Soul) - Matt & Kim

Nothing to big to report from my end. I've been having a great time riding around denver on tuesday nights. I'm actually about to go downtown to meet up with my friend Jason for some beers Here. Hopefully it'll be a good time. I don't know anything about the downtown bar scene except the really retarded ones I went to a while back and Meadowlark. The bonus is good so get them too. I don't know why it's bonus, well, I guess cause neither match the "hip-hop" theme, but they're both great.

BONUS!

She Wolf (Deeplick Radio Edit) - Shakira
This is the best of all the remixes I have (which I believe add up to 7 of them). Must download♥

Los Feeling (Bit Funk Remix) - Visitor

Sorry for the crazy sizing. I tried to fix it, but it's not changing.

10 days later.

Hey. My birthday was cool. If you were there, you know, if you weren't and we talk you've probably asked me about it by now so you know. If you haven't, you're dead to me. :)

So at what is pretty much the close of summer I've decided to let you in on my super summer slams playlist. It's dope. Some of the songs are kinda moody like a long hot summer day and some are fun, energetic, poppy, or all of those things.

I put all the songs on media fire in an AAC file but have since realized that if you aren't a frequent blogosphere downloader, you might not have the converter. If you want any of the songs that i've posted, then just give me a shout (we're probably acquaintances on facebook) and i'll put the song up. Hell you know what, I'll just put them all up now. I'm sitting in the Ritchie center enjoying the over-airconditioned arena and I'm quite comfortable. Plus, the DU internet is currently uploading my shit at 6000 kb/s. That's pretty fast.

***edit*** i'm not user pro so I can't put a 349 mb file on their site. So individual files we go...

I'll put them in two files (cause I don't think I can have just one file full of the same 390some meg of music goldenness.

I'll list all the songs and put the link at the bottom. I'm doing this for those of you that like listening to music enough to just put it on for a while and jam. Also, there are probably some songs you will not like. I put stuff in here that I think characterize summer, not things I think everyone in the world should love at first listen.

I didn't end up leaving to go backpacking/camping today cause max and grant needed to finalize their lease. Now they + john and nick have a house though so it was worth it. We'll leave tomorrow to get a good start on the hike into Indian Peaks Wilderness. Thankfully, my chest cavity still hurts quite alot when I wake up, so the trip should be just as enjoyable as last time. Maybe I should actually get an x-ray. Bottom line, don't bike when you're tired.

When we get back on wednesday I'm going to dig into Anthony's $1 Pizza $1 Beer. I'm excited for that.

Nothing else is really going on. I have, however, discovered that going downtown to the hot spots in Denver sucks. I went to Lodo's last night for my friend Will's 22nd and I'm glad I got to see him but the spot was pretty lame. Way too many people, way way way too many drunk people, and terrible music. I'll just have to wait until tuesday after next to go find the cool dives with the bike crew at loops. They always go to bars and I'm sure they know the good (and cheap) ones.

Super Summer Slams Pt. 1

Playlist:
In For The Kill - La Roux
Lisztomania - Phoenix
Night Drive With You (Grum Remix) - Anoraak
Night Watcher - Alan Braxe
Lost Ones - Lauryn Hill
Toulon - Terje Bakke
Going Down - DJ Lobsterdust
Into The Nightlife (Soulseekers Version) - Cyndi Lauper
You know what? I don't want to type all this out. It's still nice out and I'd rather be picking up supplies for the trip tomorrow or something. You figure it out. Most of the title of the song is on the file name on mediafire and if you want to know what the song sounds like before downloading it just use Hypem or Youtube or something.

Super Summer Slams Pt. 2

enjoi the music. I have.

BONUS

I've got some new stuff that I think is pretty good and It's not on the SSS playlist so I'll throw it on here:

Worst I Ever Had (Drake) - Elephant Man
This song is hillarious. And since the drake song is pretty fun by itself, it's a winning combo. Must hear.

Open Porse - Diverseconcepts
This one made me feel like I was back in 10th grade listening to The Album Leaf. But instead of being all downtempo, there's a good beat behind it that carries the song and makes it party worthy or background worthy.

Slip And Slide (Scream And Shout Recordings Original Mix) - Micha Moor
Kinda long, but alot of cool sounds. Interesting for sure.

Late Night TV

I've been on this song for a few weeks. Enjoy it like me.
Every
Every Every Every

So I was watching TV tonight for about 2 seconds before I was captivated by the pure sex that is Shakira's new video for She Wolf. I mean have you seen it??? If not here... check it out. I'm not sure of a better word than ridiculous. The link for it is at the bottom as well as a few remixes that I love.
Awooooo! It's a great night for this track cause the moon is nearly full. Neat.

I went out tonight with Kalvin, Kris, & Max to Cuba Cuba paid for by Timothy Dean. It was a great dinner with good food and comfortable conversation with everyone (who, before tonight, hadn't all hung out). I like that. I got the duck which max also enjoyed and everyone else had the pork shoulder which was probably the heartiest option on the menu. It was good but I wanted those black beans... Can't get enough of those.

We then came back and drank some brews. Maredsous 8 Dubbel started it off and then we shared some Aventinus. If you were in France with me, you know what a staple the latter was in my weekly alcohol consumption, so to find it in the US at Littles for such a low price of 3.95 is a real treat. As Marc says, "Yeah Aventinus... He's a great guy!" The saga will certainly continue for this year as well. I'm excited. I used my nice beer glasses to drink the stuff.
Also, if your name is Marc, I will be inviting you to drink Westmalle with me in Westmalle glasses within the next week. I'm saving it for you homie. The stuff's so expensive here. Now all we gotta find is Bernardus...

Tomorrow I'm not sure what I'm going, but probably not much since I don't want to drink all the nice stuff and I'm not yet 21. Saturday on the other hand will be pretty cool. I'm going to the Shadium to get my birthday mug and then maybe to the Pioneer or something to finish off the rest of the night. What I'm really looking forward to is the camping trip that me and Max are planning for Sunday afternoon-Wednesday morning. We're going to go up in the similar area to where we were last monday but stay A) longer and B) enjoy the outdoors much more because we won't be relying on a car nor any pre-set comodities. I do need to purchase a backpack for this, but I figure it'll be a worthwhile investment as I love camping and I'm probably going to be doing more and more over the next weeks/months/and (dispite the winters) years. Me and max were just jurlin lookin at a map tonight of that area and got really excited for an exploratory trip. So that being said, if you like camping and the outdoor experience and you're free on Sunday - Wednesday, please hit me up cause it would be awesome to have a bunch of people going.
