I don't have much to say but I wanted to share this song. It's by edIT, whom I like alot. And it's a fantastically good vibe for a night where there is a little bit of wet snow or rain falling down from the sky. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Here's a song that doesn't at all fit what I'm about to write about. But you should enjoy it as I personally believe it is the new Hard Knock Life.
Although I really do think I'll have a fantastic time figuring out how I want my future apartment or house to look like, I feel like it'll probably turn out pretty empty and will probably feel a little cold and too plain. Kinda like another interior that I happen to view on a minute to minute basis. Oh well, such is life. It's alot easier to be without anything flashy to decorate my walls with. Snowboarding is occasionally flashy, so I've hung that up to cover some of the empty space. I just don't think I'm ready to hang anything with a little more substance yet.
On another note, I guess I don't understand people that want to be sought out all the time. If I need help, want attention, would like to hang out with somebody, I'll usually put the effort to, I dont' know, send them a message that says something to that extent. Sure, it's always a nice surprise to hear from somebody you haven't heard from in a while, but there's no reason to expect people to hit you up all the time. Sometimes people are busy and alot of the other times, they're pretty sure you prefer having space to figure shit out for yourself. Real talk. It seems to me that there are times when a fatherly jolt would do some good. Also a "What the hell is your problem?" isn't used enough and should be. I know I'm way too good at 'getting over it' but some people need to get better at it. A tip: what helps me is realizing that hardly anything I ever do or will do will matter at all in 100 years. Just look at it like that. How big do your problems feel now? Word to Greg who is taking an initiative on his own to get shit figured out. My thoughts are with you man.
Since I haven't posted any music in almost a month, I owe all of you (1 or 2 people) some tunes. I've mostly been listening to krunk jams so that's what I'll post those. Yes, they are offensive, but they're too tight. Trying new tricks while being this pumped is nothing more than an unbelievable excitement.
Go Crazy - Rich Boy listen to this with a sub if you got one. it's pretty banging.
Bedrock (freestyle) - Twista The original song is also incredibly fun to rock to, but I'm pretty sure it'll get removed as soon as I put it up. So get that some other way and enjoy Twista's speedy delivery on this one. Basement Party - The Cool Kids This is how Grant's dance party last weekend shoulda turned out. Thanks YOU
Twerc - Progekt Pat and Jucie J Don't want this to get taken off (sp.) This is most certainly the most offensive of the bunch but just Try to not krump when this comes on. That's right, you can't not dance like a maniac. Just don't get too excited and end up with a noise violation from that old lady living next door when you bang out to this on a tuesday night.
new years tonight was a learning experience for me. and although i'm planning on talking to people without some andre in my system, i know that i'll be the same as when it was. maybe it's unfortunate, maybe it's not, i don't have any clue.
i had a bunch of real talk and the only thing it did was make me feel more alienated and loved and a misfit and a cherished part of alot of people's lives. i wish i could dissapear. i'd be more than willing to be the guy that skips town to never return to make a new life, but i'm afraid that life will be Exactly the same as it is now but with a new surrounding. maybe that's why i didn't make friends in france. maybe i wasn't real enough. maybe my real wasn't acceptable. maybe it was alien to every single person who is living at this point. maybe i don't know what to do to relate to humans. maybe i just want to move to the middle of nowhere canada. maybe i'm selfish enough to do it. but maybe not.
a sad way to ring in the new years? alot to think about.
breath in. take it in deep. crush your heart it's yours to keep. wishful, i guess i never was. i am looking up now death can't change us.
i miss ian. i miss raheed. i miss what i knew about alex and shane. i wish they were able to see the new decade. i wish i was normal for once.
As the holiday season comes nearer to fruition and the incorrectly dated birth of Jesus, I am getting more and more ground in terms of my gears. So let this be a list of things that tweak my nips left rather than right, things that cause blisters in my house slippers, things that wake me up at night, things that are useful but then turn annoying after they aren't needed (i'm thinking of all the damn salt i'm dragging into my house.
here's some good punk rock to entertain you while you read about my aches and pains:
What Grinds My Gears 1. People who initiate a conversation and then throw in an idea and then after agreeing to a time and place for that discussed event to take place, bail. I mean...really? Why? It's not like I proposed the damn thing and you decided that you were going to bail just because you felt like it and didn't think my idea was that good in the first place. It was You that brought the damn thing up and then came up with a lame excuse, which brings me to my deuxieme.
2. Coming up with lame excuses. If you don't want to do something with me, tell me. If you forgot about something else and have to bail, tell me. If you're paranoid that the world'll end if you fulfill a plan we've had, tell me, then get help. But jesus, just be strait with me and everyone else.
3. Being a convenience friend. Well what have we here? Looks like a contradiction. "Ted, you're the biggest convenient friend I have." Let me address this. I am not a convenience-based friend. I am a person who, due to immense popularity, is spread thin among many groups of different individuals. I get along with everyone. If you need me to be somewhere, I'll be there. You just gotta tell me. However, I am physically unable to donate my charming and radiant personality to everyone at the same time proactively. I can't seek out every one of my friends, but if I'm chillin with you, I'm chillin with you. And if you hit me up, I'll respond, unlike true convenience friends. I might be busy, but i'll tell you and try to figure out a time we can hang asap.
4. People who refuse to be involved with anything that involves them speaking any number of words of Not-english. This includes everyone in this damn country who won't even attempt another language. If you're in America, it's pretty bad but somewhat permissible. However, if you go to another country, fucking try! Honestly, just make an attempt. I guarantee you'll look more foolish not trying than trying and failing. We're the absolute worst about this. In the whole world. That's sad, America.
Music Time
1. Parks on Fire - Trifonic This song is incredible. The video is incredible (although admitantly a little scattered). Theses guys make great music and you should go out and get some if not all of their stuff. They've got an interesting bio as well.
2. Ego (Twinsmatic Remix) - Beyonce It's a little lo-fi, but this is a tight remix considering the original was all spunky and completely different than this end product.
3.Traveling - Jaunt I got this a long time ago, but I like it's upbeat nature. It reminds me of why I like housey music even though it is a little repetitive. It'd be great for traveling.
"Well let me tell you beautiful, I've been there. Believe me when I say I'm not afraid... of destruction, sorrow, fear, or regret. I've heard the devil call me by my name."
Since I have put down such a positive title I would like to start off with my only negative comment right now. My wireless mouse sucks batteries like those old godzilla toys that lit up and walked around. I had one of those for christmas when I was...7? I don't know. Long time ago.
I'm waiting to get picked up to go to Lime with some homies. I don't know what I'll get. They have good margaritas but I don't really like those. Man, tough life.
I love this group. They always help me fix a smile on my face.
So I'd like to say that there is never a good time to not smile. Unless you're walking through a landfill a smile, big or small, is relaxing and it is an example to others to be happy. Try this; you're in a bad mood and you feel like crap...smile. You got taken advantage of...smile, the person probably isn't worth your concern anyway. Well unfortunately, I have to go, but I wanted to post this song before I leave. It's off a Cd I've had for a long time but never really listened to until now when I've been in a trancey mood.
I woke up this morning in a fantastic state. Not really, but I'm better now. I had one of those "I can't sleep cause I'm running over conversations that I could have potentially had in the past" mornings. It's been a long time since that has happened. I wanna say since highschool? Most of them involved me being put in ludacris situations that would never actually happen and me having to think on the fly and figure out how I'd react. One dealt with a shoulda-woulda-coulda with a girl named Celia from Dauphine. She was rad and I was a little bit of an idiot for not trying to see what she was about. I was half awake but the conversation went something like "sorry I was just way too caught up with snowboarding (as I first met her at the Dauphine ski trip) to realize how great you were." Real sappy if I remember correctly. We then went out for coffee after I apologized for loving snowboarding too much.
Which brings me to my next point: burning bridges. Why do it? There is Never a good time to burn a bridge unless you're trying to defend a castle and somebody is a double agent for the other side and is planning on lowering your drawbridge. You get something good out of everything. I mean if your falling out was that bad, just think about what you gained from the relationship. Par example... My dutch friend taught me that I can't take what people say at face value. That's a good lesson. People aren't really honest, so there's no reason to think they will be. As pessimistic as that sounds, I'm thankful for it. And, knowing our luck, our paths will cross again. Don't know where, but I have that feeling and I'll see them at a business conference or something in the future and we'll be chill cause I wasn't a hot-head about the whole thing. Sometimes you even learn something about yourself. My french friend taught me that I am a selfish person. I had never really seen that. And even though I'm not as selfish as they liked to think, I do have that in me and I see it now. On that point...to rabah: if people weren't somewhat selfish, there wouldn't be people. Self-preservation and self-fullfillment are two of the things people are the most concerned about in life. That's how it is. If not, you're a saint and people will probably kill you for it. There's quite a history of that.
Now to more cheery dialogue. Listen to this: So fun.
So Paris. Was great. We had a nice turkey day, I wasn't sick the whole time despite the kinda crappy weather, and I got to re-visit some cherished places I frequented. It was really amazing seeing the sweet rat. I kinda wish I woulda been on strike too so I coulda spent as much time with her as Joe did. She has that hood flava but is still so not tough...and she's french which drops the toughness down a few notches anyway. I wanted to bring my bike over there, but it was going to be a hassle and I'm kinda glad that I didn't now. I mean it woulda been fun, but I probably wouldn't have gotten to ride with the homies and I was in a nostalgic walking mood. It was weird, but alright. Next time I go though, it's coming with. By the way, I have decided that I will live there again. By my own power, I will go back, become completely alienated, get better at the language, make actual friends over there instead of the no-love dauphine bitches, and integrate myself from point A to point B. (And as a side note to the zero dauphine people reading this, there were a few of you that went out of your way to make me feel extremely welcome. Aurélia (didn't even know me and invited me to her birthday, which I completely botched by forgetting the address), Diane, that dude in my action publique class (Marc Hypolyte (sp?)), Antoine (in class super tight. out of class bitch ass who wouldn't go to my parties), Guillaume who was damn persistent trying to get me to go to the veritable shit-shows that were the thursday night erasmus nights, and Julie for getting me into the Alcatel group, Thank You guys. Everyone else at dauphine can suck one.) My time will be grand and on my terms when I go back. Until that can happen, I don't want to live there. It's too much of a treasure to me to mess that up.
I don't have too much to put on my wish list for christmas. I feel pretty blessed as is. But I am asking for one of these. and a helmet. As always, the "All I really want is cash" is simply not going to work. That's really boring to buy and give. So I've asked wen wen to give me some "so hot right now" fashion ideas since she's the only fasionista that I both know and would like to ask for recommendations.
I hope my sister posts the picture of me and the m.a.c. model on facebook soon. my ego will be enhanced when that happens and we all know that's really what I need.
Here's another good trance joint from the same ClubLife 136 podcast and the passion pit/juvi mash up you were listening to a second ago.
And since this is the season for warm drink, go out and try yourself some hot tang. Real talk...Real good.
Listen to this song. It's still defines one of my favorite paris moments. Me, Aryo, Daniel, Carina, and some foxy Brit were at Social and the DJ who was playing Electro and Dubstep stopped the set, put this on, played the whole thing, and then went back to electro. Epic.
Done with finals. I need to write either 2 or 3 papers (depending on their length for my core class) and then I'm done. Those are due wednesday so I will most likely just work on them at nights when I'm not snowboarding.
So excited to get back to france. I'm already giddy nervous. Same feeling like when I think about snowboarding. I'm trying to figure out if I can take my bike over there. I need to get it into a really small 62 dimensional inch box so I can avoid the 100 dollar EACH WAY fee. I don't know if i'll be able to make it work. I'll try to get a box and find out soon so I can know if it's going to work or not.
I really like hocus pocus. They have the right attitude:
MUSIC TIME:this is the club jamz wild dance stuff post. so move your body.
Fire Superman (ft. Lil Wayne) - Santigold This is from Terry Urban's Southerngold that, thank god, leaked dispite the Downtown Record's cease and desist. ...you ain't got enough green and she so blue...
With so much free time this week, I've had time to work, skate, relax, love life (tonight), realize that I'm in a good position right now despite alot of factors trying to tug me into a bummed out state, hope for others, eat popcorn, and enjoy techno.
Because I'm a nice guy that doesn't care all that much about legality, I will provide you with decent quality bootlegged versions of some trance songs I'm feeling that were on Tiesto's radio show.
If anything I post here is found to be against the liking of anyone, just email me at ted.krause@me.com and I will remove it quickly. That's alot better than checking in on my blog to see that my post was removed. So just holla at me!
