Everyone else... these are Really Really incredible. I've been lucky to find these recently (even though some are a little dated for blogtopia) and have been jamming them constantly.
As with any CC song, if you look up the lyrics, you might like it less. You might also like it more. Whichever, they're strange. Thanks to Tony and his re-edit of his brother's footy for this track.
This is the best thing I've heard in months. Real talk. It's mixed exceptionally, the chorus is haunting, and the synth playing/programming (whichever one it is) is incredibly on point. This track is pervasive. It will not quit, and will provide you with something astonishing in your melancholy, your ecstacy, your delirium. Do yourself a favor...get it.
Whiskey Club was awesome. I had a great meal and 3 awesome whiskeys for 25 dollars.
This song has been in my head all day. I was skating the DU pond today for an hour just singing all the while. The 3 bikini-clad girls who were tanning right next to me probably thought I was a weirdo....but that's okay. I had a blast. I'm starting to have alot of fun skating again. I've got a few tricks that I would only land luckily on lock and it's a good feeling.
Last night John and Clark had their joint birthday party. Twas fun. Austin rolled down and we got buck on the sweatbox basement dance floor with a bunch of other chillers. Unfortunately, John didn't get the birthday fun he woulda liked, but I think everyone had a great time regardless. Like always, me and Austin got Jeru's on the way home. Falafel sandwich with hot sauce? Delicious.
I woke up this morning and ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's. I gave ice cream up for lent, so I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it wasn't all I had hoped for. Ice cream, despite being incredible, only gives you so much happiness. But the rest of the day was fantastic ending with a great moose curry made by Mr. Sake Talk himself.
But we know you really just want some music. So here it is:
I would post every song I have by TPC, but I'd probably get a cease and desist. I would just like to say that there isn't a song I've heard by them yet that I don't like at least somewhat. And that's hard. I'm pretty picky. This one is real tight. I love the little guitar diddy that comes in with about 30 seconds left. I'm a sucker for harmony lines like that.
This is kinda old, but it's super super fun. And it makes a good point. You should not ever devote the time teaching somebody's dude to dance. You're just raising his girl-keeping potential. And lets be honest, you probably want her to break up with him anyway.
A pretty happy song with some happy sounds and happy vibes. I really like the falling electronic pulse sounds and the background vocals. It's a simple song, but effective. ...it's saturday we've got every hour in the world.
I hope everyone enjoys those and has a great start to the week.
I'll leave you with another youtube song (cause i don't have the mp3). Despite the lyrics being super weird, I love the keyboard: If you've got things on your mind...Shake Them Off!
This one is dedicated to not going to the Border again. I despise that venue, the fact that they charge 2 dollars for guys to get in on a tuesday, the underage people who think they're awesome cause they're drinking, the too made-up and too showy girls, the slanted pool table, and the shitty music. I could dj like that with my eyes closed mr. djdenver. No disrespect to the people I was chilling with last night, I did have fun chatting/dancing with everyone, but the poor drink specials and the other 3/4 of the bar where we weren't made me want to kill myself.
But this isn't about complaining; it's about posting mellow jams. So without further ado:
I think this is a re-post but I'm okay with that. It's awesome. Kinda sad really, but it's a pretty song. And I'm a fan of Lake Heartbeat's other stuff too.
I really loved "wires" when my friend monica gave it to me senior year of highschool on a mix cd (remember those?) and so I bought their next album. It was well worth it. This is most certainly the most chill song out of these.
I still haven't picked up this whole album. Not sure why. Every song I've heard has been good. This is a less bassy version of the original that starts off 10x more chill than its twin song.
Maps is the best slideshow song of all time. I've said that before and I'll say it again. I want to shout out to Ty Evans who put the original in the Chocolate video that came out...6 years ago? Wow. This remix is insane. It takes everything that makes the original fantastic and adds an electronic cherry on top.
Hope that quenches your thirst kyle...or anyone else that wanted to get mellow yellow.
and i felt like posting it. it's really mellow which is something i need after a week of snowboarding and partying in beaver creek. woo spring break 2010.
Get your rubber ducks out cause you're about to get washed over with some dubly bubbly.
This one's an oldie but goodie. I have liked Kaskade alot since I heard Steppin Out and this, although being dub and not prog house, is another win in my book. I Remember (Caspa Remix) - Kaskade & Deadmau5
I've realized that I obviously do not give enough of a shit to be closely involved with other humans. I occasionally prioritize interactions but I don't really prioritize any type of relationship when I should. Dancing by myself is often just as important as conversing with somebody. And if I haven't seen you in a while, I'll probably talk to you before I talk to the person I saw yesterday. I don't understand things that can rationally be labeled as irrational.
On another note, I've been meeting people recently that have been super cool. I've heard people talking smack about a handful of them but I've discovered nothing but good things... Example: one of the proclaimed "rich girls" of DU, who alot of people were bummed on, was really nice. She looked good and was genuinely a kind person... at least from the interaction we had last night.
I think i've posted this before, but it really is the freebird of dubstep. I think it rocks and it's nice and long for if you're vibin with not much to do.
I like this one alot. It's got a great sound and is fun to listen to. You could argue that it isn't hard enough, but you could also not argue that. Plus, who doesn't like 320.
Jakwob is killing it in the game. He makes tracks fire. Ex... Ellie Goulding Starry Eyed. You'll probably be creeped out by this track. But that's okay; after all, we're all living in a small Resident Evil style dreamscape.
I have this pegged as downtempo dub. It's very mellow and nice on the ears. It really sounds kinda like Anoraak woulda made this their first intro into the dubstep world. It's very properly synchronized and a clean and neat dub jam.
I'm not going to post everything great I have, so I'll leave it at that. Hope everyone enjoys.
I've been super obsessed with Say Ahh by Trey Songs recently. So here it is. I can't post a link cause the whole post will probably be deleted by the record label bastards.
So, i would normally say listen to your mother's advice. But this time she messed up. In a modern dating world it is not okay to be hanging out with more than one person at a time. especially if the people you are hanging out with are girls. So no more of that. it was stressful anyway. i'm not a fan.
I think dance parties need to become a weekly thing. John and Nick's basement is the best place for them and everyone has a blast when they put one on. The Red Party party was super awesome as was all the other events that weekend and all of them this weekend. I've been having a good time living recently and I like being able to say that.
Spin (Russ Chimes Big House Remix) - Cassette Kids Russ Chimes can do no wrong in my book. The synth lines he comes up with always fit the song perfectly and this is no exception. This one is probably even bumpin enough to play at a party. I would be so excited if someone came up to me and said, "Let me spin a little record for you baby," with that attitude.
Mouthful of Diamonds - Phantogram A fun ethereal electronic jam. You'll probably like its mellowness...because it's mellow.
Enjoy those. I'll post a mellow dubstep list later on in the week. I have most of them now, but these 4 are enough for tonight. "Let me spiiiiiyannnn oh!"
Ever since I heardDigital Lovein 7th grade on that ski trip in Switzerland, I have been pretty excited about electronic music. However, it isn't until recently that I think I've found a group that conveys the same feelings to me. I posted anAnoraaksong last week as the bonus. But it's way more than that. It'll help you through the loneliest feeling days by making you feel comfortable in your loneliness...go figure. The power of song is really incredible. So get that one if you didn't before and I have some others to throw up here.
These are way more upbeat than Make It Better, and so naturally I like them at least equally...as i am an upbeat person in general. I hope you enjoy. And I hope you check out Anoraak.Cause they rock.
What it do? I'm going to easter egg the hell outa this one. Just remember to hold control or apple when you click.
So I've realized that I'm one of the guiltiest feeling people ever (thats for Colin). I'm kinda bummed on that. It makes things less fun and makes my cheeks stay red all the time. I don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy something that I've been raised to think is bad. Never ever. Kinda a shame really. It's really a large part of being a human but I'm pretty sure I'll be bummed on it forever. Thanks upbringing.
Enough of that shite though. Music time...
It's going to start krunk and get awsomely mellower so if you only like mellow go down to the bottom.
This is really tight. The flow is sick and the beat is pretty cool. You'll get buck. "Red bone do me good then her friend assist her. I mean a bitch she never met...her best friend her sister. I leave the __ micro soft like windows vista" Dayum.
It may seem like I like wayne too much. Fair assessment. But he's creative and coming out with great beats too. Hate if you wanna, that's okay, but you'll probably get sucked into the beat if you listen.
This is a completely different type of krunk. It's deep cut dubkrunk. The energy in this is intense. You'll ask yourself, "where did the music go?" and then it will come back in and you'll vibe. But this also marks the transition into the less krunk and more mellow section.
This is so incredibly chill. I love it and you will too. It's kinda like you combined Cloetta Paris and the Plimsouls (the electo ones not the punk ones). Or if you don't know those two... hum... maybe like Tegan and Sara and... Hot Chip. Certainly my favorite of the whole bunch.
I hope everyone enjoys. If you find something you like, leave a comment. I'll know what to keep posting on.
As a BONUS, I'll throw up the original mix of Make It Better - Anoraak It's a cool song and this french group always puts in good work.
If anything I post here is found to be against the liking of anyone, just email me at ted.krause@me.com and I will remove it quickly. That's alot better than checking in on my blog to see that my post was removed. So just holla at me!
