Another dump on your face post

I have alot to say and alot of music to share. Sure it's all been done (posted by someone else) before, but it's absolutely fantastic stuff.

To start off, I'll throw on some Kool & The Gang with a remixed version (by laZEBRA) of their

Song 1: Be My Lady (laZEBRA remix)

It's a 70's track with a funky electronic beat. Fun song.

Story 1:

Sunday don't remember what I did that was exciting besides a little night ride, so I'll go to Monday. We said adios to Carrie at her place after I had taken my last final exam. It was kinda weird seeing people for the last time. I said that I was ready to go back really soon, but I realize after seeing other people leave that I don't in actuality. Maybe it's just fear of liking Denver less after living in one of the coolest cities in the world. I don't know for sure, but I'm slowly realizing that the 12 days I have left in Paris are going to blow by super fast. Writing about it is actually giving me that nervous feeling in my stomach. Pause.
For the final exam, I got lucky that he was understanding. I got an 11 which I thought was better than the 10 I felt I deserved. It was pretty cool to just talk to him a little after the exam was done. I couldn't express myself fully but I was able to have the chance to tell him I really liked the course. Which I did. Because it was history. I'm pretty entertained/intrigued by history whenever I have a chance to be exposed to it, so I was a happy camper.

Song 2: La La La - LMFAO

I love the part at the end where the beat breaks and then drops again without the extra beat at the end of the measure. It sounds so tight to combine a kinda standard pop-y hiphop beat with a electronic-based song. That 1, 2&1/2, bass hit with that (loose snare?) smack on 3 is always going to be tight when it's not played out by being used for a whole song.

Story 2:

On tuesday, we said bye to Will. That one was fine for me thought cause I know I'll see him at DU. That woulda been cool to do the rooming arrangement we talked about one of the first few times me, marc, and will hung out in Paris. I guess I messed that up cause I found a place with colin but whatev. Probably wouldn'tve worked out anyway. They started out at a cool bar called Les Etages which I didn't make it to. Somehow I'm always late. Oh right I was filling out the shipping forms for my stuff. Anyway, I met up with them at a falafel place which was a little bit to rich for my blood (as in I didn't want to spend 7 euros on a falafel) so I just chilled with some fries and then went with them to the next bar called La Perle. It wasn't as amazing as Will had made it out to be, but it was still a fun time. There was a good mix of people there and there beers (at 6 euros a pint) weren't too much. Except that 6 euro pint was Heineken and they had 2 other choices total. It seemed strange that a bar would have so few choices but whatev I guess they knew their clientel enough that they weren't trying to impress anyone with selection. Regardless, it was cool to see Will again and meet some cool Austrailians. I would like to go to Australia sometime in my life. And with that...

Song 3: I Got You Dancing (Jack Beats Remix) - Lady Sovereign

The dub part is kinda lame. Actually it's really lame, but the snippets of the song that aren't are really sick. I guess if you like dubstep ALOT, it's not dub enough and if you don't like it at all, it's too much. Like always, my problem with dubstep is that it just doesn't work with the song. Same here, but you gotta get this one for the sample of Hero by Nas at 2:48 that continues for a while. SO SICK. Off topic a little, Polo Da Don murdered that beat. So thanks to him for making a sick track. Go listen to the Nas song on Youtube or something. I guess that makes me a hero.

Story 3:

I'll start this off by saying that if you are Ever in Paris, visit Bootlegger. Please. If you like good beer and nice people this is the place to go to get both.
Alright, well me, joe, and marc got invited to a party that Christian (the owner) put on in the Huge basement under his store. I got there a little late, but enjoyed it anyway. He had La Chouffe on tap -which isn't even one of my favorites - and it was so much better than the crap that normal parties have. It was essentially a crazy family reunion. There were mostly older people around (older being around 40 to 60) but it was still awesome because we had some good beer foods like rillette (which is a type of pate kinda stuff made out of porc. Actually now that I think about it, it looked like tunafish that you get in a can. But it was alot better.)

So it was a great night until my group in one of my french business classes called and said that they needed my part of the project. UM....Really? I hadn't heard anything from them for nearly 2 weeks and apparently I was supposed to just do a whole part by myself and have it be really good and have it done by that night. Thanks for the early notice. Joe said I should just ignore it, but being the good guy I am, I talked to Mathieu and went home early and emailed him what I had. Mathieu, if you're reading this, I'm so thankful that you did a little work on it for me and then handed that in with the rest of the stuff. I was in no state to pull an all-nighter on a project that I didn't understand fully. Thanks man.

Song 4: I'm Hot ft. M.I.A. - Tinie Tempah

Lame rap name, mate. Lame. But the rest of the public will like it cause they'll think it's clever. That being said, I wish they played this kinda popular rap stuff in the US. I like the beat but the nearly 30 second Creepy-ass intro isn't my favorite.

Story 4:

After being left with Brian on the Thursday night ride (which actually turned out to be as good as with the group if not better), I wanted to do another ride. I mean I kinda did and kinda didn't. As I did about 100 km on Thursday, I was pretty burned out on riding, but after me and Kaitlin chilled in the Parc Floral for the afternoon, I went over to Marc's and made some pizza and brought Ben & Jerrys Phish Food (which is a flavor I hadn't yet been able to find here at stores). I ate pretty fast cause I had to run and then I bounced over to Palais Royal to meet up with what I thought would be maybe 5 or 6 guys.
Well it turned out that it was just me and Nico, but it might have even been better that way. I'm a real fan of this dude. He's just super pumped on life. I'll give you a quick description.
He's like 5'4" with dreds and has headphones allways on his head. He's got a turquoise bike that has chopped bars that can't be more than 6 inches on either side.
Anyway, we rode at about an average of 30 km/h for the first 10 km that we did to port de st. cloud and damn i re-learned how to fly. If you've never biked through traffic just passing people that are still moving at like 30 mph, you gotta. Best feeling ever. It's like blasting through Schoolmarm at keystone when it's busy and you're just flying over everything and by everyone. That was the best feeling i've had in probably 3 months. Anyway, I got to practice my french and talk about some real stuff that i've never really talked about using french. Which was cool, but difficult when you're biking as well. But it was a fantastic ride. Shout out to Nico and his wife.

Song 5: Night & Day - Lloyd

Here's the youtube for now. I don't want to get the whole entry deleted by the dicks in the music industry.
Jim Jonsin is a weird ass dude that is slept on. He did Damn It Man and some others that I really like. Get this album when it comes out! I probably will. This is a good first single. Thanks to Joe for this one.
(Also, if you want the song in pretty good quality just get at me on facebook or email or something and I'll email it or something.)

So we're leaving for our bike trip tomorrow and I'm excited. It should be a great time.

Hear the middleweights hummin...

Ted

BONUS: A song that I really like by a band that I just found: Cassettes Won't Listen.

Get the song Into The Hillside and check them out on their website or their myspace.
