Staying Busy, The Unemployed Way

Hey. So i'm in Denver and it's cool. I have a few newses to speak about and since I don't have internet chez moi I probably won't put any music on here. To be honest, I haven't downloaded anything new in over 2 weeks, which, if you know me, is extraordinary. My computer just won't find the "Free Bruegers Wifi" and I am just hiking up the hill to DCB to write stuff/check stuff. So I won't be as quick on the draw on facebook/emails because of that.

Anyway, my flight from Paris was pretty uneventful (which is always nice when traveling international). I sat by an old cowboy type and we talked and drank together throughout the flight. I was genuinely impressed that he, a single elderly man, would learn some french and go live in Paris for 3 weeks in a large apartment that he rented. Of course he had family come to visit/stay with him for a majority of the time, but that takes alot of gusto to leave everything you're comfortable with and go live in Paris for 3 weeks as a retired guy. At first, I assumed he came from oil but I quickly learned by studying the way he spoke and his mannerisms that he was just doing it big for the first time in his life. He was open to learning new stuff, and at that age, that's really rare to find out of an American especially. I always joke that I'll die by the age of 45 or 50 cause I will A) not have anything else to do at that point and B) not have kids or a wife that I'll want to stick around for, but seeing this guy's calm love for life made me rethink that proposition. Alone isn't really bad at all. There have been a few times this last week that I've been by myself and bored (especially being the internet junkie that I am), but I don't mind it. In fact, my love for being alone, which was probably grown over my stay in paris, is just another component that attracts me to people that similarly don't need to rely on others to survive.
Moving on...

In Dallas, I got home, simi-unloaded my stuff, and hung out with Jeff two nights in a row. We went out to Royce City to skate this one place that he saw from the highway (and melted doing so) but ended up finding another ditch spot that was right by the highschool and alot more fun. For some reason fs 5-0s are really easy for me and they're not for most other people. Alot of them were done on this one section of the ditch.

Later that week, I hung out with Phillip and Michael which was pretty cool. We ended up going to Frys to buy a TV for the Cherry's new house and just chilling around said house with a few cold ones. July 4th was pretty whatever, but we did have some great grill fun, (which involved me almost burning my hand off) some good brats, and a pitiful fireworks display. Armin showed up too. Good to see him. Greg had mono so he had to just sit around his house with the exception of the last night where he came and chilled with us. My not-being-in-paris-sadness was relieved quite well due to the great company down in the D.

My drive sucked, like it most often does, but I didn't fall asleep, I had a Tag-a-long Blizard from Dairy Queen, and was in two of the most violent thunder storms I've ever driven through. If you're driving through the north east corner of New Mexico on 87 during summer, be prepared for either hot, or wet. That place is mars...another planet.

I've gotten pretty settled in in Denver, gone running once, biking a few more times, and have had "board meetings" with my other unemployed counterparts.
It's good to be back, but I miss the rush, the hecticity, and the company of Paris.
