We Have A Winner

Because nobody else really tried and he obviously put some effort into it, Colin Don has won with this:
the chill mix...
1. the funeral - band of horses
2. Theme from Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind. - john brion "phone call"
3. Breathe Me (remix by...) - SIA
4. Staralfur (Mojib break of dawn remix) - Sigur Ros
5. (14:30) - (?)
6. Sounds like the "chasing pavements" girl? - Adele
7. (19:51) - (?)
8. "The Prayer" - KiD CuDI

Really close. There was another song that I wasn't expecting anyone to get with the SIA song. I'll just put up the list.

1. See Above
2. See Above
3. Breathe Me (Mylo Remix) - SIA
4. State Of Things - Simian Mobile Disco
5. See Above
6. I Need A Life (Four Tet Remix) - Born Ruffians
7. Hometown Glory (Shinobe One Radio Edit) - Adele
8. See Above

So he gets to chose what thing he wants sent to him from France on my dollar. You guys shoulda tried harder. Somebody coulda got at least the name of the Adele song. There were lyrics for pete sake. Colin...name your prize.

All The Lonely People

I'm pretty obviously taking a break from the day-in day-out blogging. I needed a break after that one night (not to mention I wanted everyone to get a chance to listen to the mix.) I listened to it all the way through the other day and I like it. Hopefully I'll find some other stuff to make another soon. I'd like to say that it can be a weekly thing, but realistically, I think bi-weekly is the absolute best I will have time to do.

I was and am still listening to the newest Deathcab album (about which I heard very low reviews[I guess I can understand why]) cause it's raining and I've never listened to it all the way through. It has a good feel to it so far and I will say that it's pretty likable. Lets go with... 6 of 10 for a more precise approach. It's not that I think it's better than 60% of any comprehensive albums I've heard (well it might be since I've been exposed to so many horrible albums), but for the genre and purpose, I think it creates what they hoped it would. Best song is certainly Your New Twin Sized Bed which, to me is a reverberation of what The Sound of Settling was (which, if anyone thought was a happy song, was not)
All The Lonely People ft. LaToiya Williams - Talib Kweli
The purpose of this rant was really to say that loneliness can sometimes be this crushing, inebriating force that will demolish any positivity desire to continue the search. I haven't figured out what triggers it; sometimes it might be being physically alone, but often times it can hit with an entourage of acquaintances or even friends around. Kinda makes you want to give up, huh? If anyone's figured it out tell me.

Bonus: On a lighter note, my random itunes play got me this which is from one of the best rainy day albums (One Day I'll Be On Time) made in my opinion. Asleep - The Album Leaf

Music From The Soul

I just finished a quite large remix (sorry that it's so big [33 mb] but i didn't want to cut out decent quality) that I did from start to finish tonight thanks to the help of crunkness. I learned tonight that music is probably the most important thing to me; it makes my favorite activities exponentially better, and it can completely transform a boring night or situation into something to remember for weeks, months, or years.
To all the people that hook it up with good music, thank you...sincerely.
Now:

The Chill Mix

Dedicated to Julia. Happy Birthday.

ps. If anyone can tell me all the songs in it (there are only 8) I'll send you anything Parisian you want that is reasonable. (Also, don't worry about what remix. I just want to see some participation.) I'll keep the tracklist off the site for a week to see if anyone gets it.

Time Tics On By

Without any buhshih we got the 10th song on the STWMTGBIAC playlist. Halfway done and the first time I heard this and used it in a little mix I went nuts. Rye Rye is hot right now. I won't say everything she does is hot but I'm certainly a fan.

Tic Toc ft. Rye Rye & M.I.A. - Busy Signal

p.s. (30 min later)
Look at me I finally found an mp3 encoder that works decently. Yay now I can whore out my mediocre remixes! :) (which happen to involve two of the songs in the S-C playlist)

Party On The Beach

Before I get into anything, you should go to my man Tony's blog and get the Stereogum mixtape.

Good, now that that's settled... the weekend was fun. Spain is really just insane. Everything's cheaper and even in a smaller city like San Sebastian people were out and active until early in the morning. + the beach was really nice.

I'm having a bit of trouble thinking of a specific song that would go in the STWMTGBIAC for tonight.
So because I can't decide which Jackson 5 version to put up, I'd like to honor my 563 faithful subscribers with a triple shot.
I Want You Back
(Z-trip Remix)
(Rogerseventytwo Remix)
(DJ Skeet Skeet Edit)
*If you're only in the market for club bangers the last one will be the one you end up liking the best.

Since I'm kinda in the mood to set some goals, I will.
First, I will get back in shape. I was this summer and I am not now.
Second, I will invest more time into friendships that believe I have been taking for granted.
Third, I will continue to work on that love everyone thing. If you haven't tried it, do, but take heed, it's really hard.
Fourth, I will listen to this song alot more. Lyrics and 3:23 if you want to know why I like it.
Bonus: Dedicated to Greg and Ryan

Weekend Worth of Jams

So since I'll be going to Biarritz this weekend, I will put up all the songs I probably would have put up anyway. However, I would like to say in my defense that I didn't have alot of time to pick these out and make sure they're really really hot. lol. Sike.

Plies - Hypnotized ft. Akon
Akon Kills the chorus; it's the reason this is on here. Plies...well that dude need a cold shower.

Elroy & Tom Piper - Point N Clap
You can't find this. I tried. Thanks to DJ Stanley for hookin it up. Again, this song is overly dirty, but the intro is so sick. Both hypnotized and this would be used in conjunction with something else.

Mike Jones - I Need A Dime ft. Ying Yang Twins
Simple. I love this song. Also, I need a dime. Preferably a Euro dime cause they're worth more.

Whitney Houston - I Want To Dance With Someone (Junior Vasquez Remix)
Always liked the original. This is more club friendly tho.

I used mediafire cause zshare is fixing their site. It's alot easier if you're just downloading the song anyway but you can't listen to it. If I hear no pro-zshare comments I think I'll just stick with it because it's a better site for uploading.

Have a fun weekend. I will.

Bonus: Unfortunately this guy just quit (like yesterday) but he made a few really great songs.

FRANKMUZIK - 3 Little Words
cool video too.

16 oct. 2008

Listen to this guitar riff and don't rock out.

Because zshare is being horrible i'll put this up because i nearly broke my neck to this song a minute ago.

2 min 10.
Buy their albums. Especially this one.

Mash-up Potatoes

Because I know how everyone likes mash-ups as much as I do, I will add this to the S-T-W-M-T-G-B-I-A-C list. If you do not like mash-ups, you probably have good reason, however, in this case you are Incorrect.
All I can really tell you is that this is my blog and I Wear The Pants. ← That's the song btw.
I could very well send you to Peach's, Avril's, and Busta's Myspace, but I will save my time because if you download the song you can see who is mashed by Werdt (who just happens to have a myspace himself and 2 more songs for download on my friend The Lemur's blog)

enjoy those.

Greg, this one's for you.

peace
