The Simpler The Better? Maybe so.

So I'm thinking of ordering shoes. First, because I love them, and second because my lakais are getting pretty rugged. I think I'll get these
Brian Herman Black Suede & White

For any girl thinking of buying sneakers (Wendy) buy these Asics. Those will not not match with anything. And for the woman that wants to win my heart by way of tight sneakers get these Reeboks.

Hum...music.

Alright since I don't have any good ideas I'll start making my "Songs-that-would-make-Ted-get-buck-in-a-club" playlist. I figure to keep interest and to give myself a long while to figure out the best 20 club songs I got, I'll do one a day and then I'll put them all up in a zip file maybe. Or maybe I'll put together a little mix for ya (if I can find a free mp3 encoder that doesn't give me spyware).
Numero Uno : WOW (CSS Remix) - Kylie Minogue

I went to The Rex Club on saturday and it was pretty tight, but after 5 hours of techno I put on some Lupe (Paris Tokyo Remix is hot[sing it Miss Green]) and was it ever a relief. I Love Hip-Hop.

See ya tomorrow.

Cool Ass French People

So i've found that there are C.A.F.P. everywhere. Like in the US, it's easy for me to get along with people after I meet them initially, however, I was told that (categorizing the french people as one unit) they are hard to meet and they don't want to meet you cause they treat friendship differently. I agree with that statement to some extent, but it was explained to me that it's an enormous cultural difference. Whatever, I think if you're cool to people they'll be cool back in almost any situation. At least thats what I've found here. Sick.

So this post is dedicated to fab. fabien since I just hung out with him and sophie and heloise and some other folks. Yo, you told me you liked this song so I thought i'd give you some remixes to put on the Ipod or whatev. My favorite will go first and will be followed by other acceptable but unusual remixes.
Womanizer (You Love Her Coz She's Dead Remix) - Britney Spears

Womanizer (The Teenagers Remix) - B.S.
Womanaizer (Tommie Sunshine's Holy Shit The Economy Is Fucked Up Re-Rub) - B.S.
Enjoy!

Bonus: I might post the Bloc Party Remix but you can all find it on the HypeMachine if you want it now. I honestly think the original is better but you can decide.
Salt, Pepper, and Spinderella - Johnny Foreigner

Hur Cutt.

So today marks my first French Hur Cutt. I'm leaving soon to go to the Coiffure right down the street. Hopefully they can cut guys hair. If not I'll find somewhere else. I have no idea what to ask for. I don't even know what I would say in English which presents a small delima.

Well in the spirit of experimentalness I shall post some hot fire that you probably haven't heard and may or may not like. I would suggest you give it a try regardless.
Oh and this is dedicated to Heartbreaker.
Heartbreaker (Diskjokke Remix) - Metronomy
Heartbreaker - Metronomy

So now we will venture into a different realm of awesomeness that only Michel Gondry could put into the picture.
Star Guitar ft. Au Revoir Simone - Shinichi Osawa
Star Guitar (Brookes Brothers Remix) - Shinichi Osawa

Bonus: A song that I hope to hear at the club this weekend. I will not hear it alas, but it would be really tight if I did. Clue: 43 Seconds. Listen to that drop. Well done Destroy Disco.
Anti Matter (Destroy Disco Edit) - N*E*R*D
Why you Dr. Killjoy shootin up the party???

Like Butter Baby

I'm tired so I don't want to spend alot of time on this... but... I want to dedicate this post to people who make things look like butter or sound like butter or just spread whatever their art is as easy as some Doux Elle & Vire Beure.

First off.
Shad. This fool has been just recently found on my Itunes rockin the 4 stars. Butter. I'll put up two and you can go to his myspace to hear whatever else.
I Don't Like To - Shad
The Old Prince Still Lives At Home - Shad

Next.
Emily King. Write a song like this one. I dare you.
Business Man - Emily King

En Suite.
Tiesto? Butter? No Way! ... Yes Way! Goosebumps...trust me. Listen to this on high volume with good headphones/good speakers. Wow.
Walking On A Cloud - DJ Tiesto

Last but certainly not least.
MeShelle Ndegeocello. Prince, let her play bass for you. This song is gorgeous.
Fellowship - MeShelle Ndegeocello

And if you are saying, "Hey Ted. Why no songs from your 3 favorite artists?" I will quickly respond with, "the blog is young my child."

No Bonus Song. I have class in the morning. Bonne Nuit a Tous.

Big Swedish Warehouse

Song of the day is something that will maybe make you jump up with joy and maybe make you cry because it's so radical. Dubstep is sometimes really lame but sometimes really cool. This is really cool and you'll enjoy it.

Relax And Take Notes (XI Dubstep RMX)- 8 Ball & MJG

If you haven't heard the original it's Here or Here if you like Skating Deer

Now for something a little less expletive...

So classes are starting for real tomorrow. I gotta get up early and get to class by 8:30 which sucks but naptime will be all the better. I think I'm going to get back to running. I miss feeling really in shape and not caring about what I eat. So less weekday alcool and more weekday recreation.

I have been wanting to hear some nice new MCs for a while but I'm pretty content with Term and Joell. They kill nearly everything. So I figure I'll just put up something else cause alot of their stuff is simply fire.
Pop or not, Keep On Calling is great.
We need more storytellers.

Bonus: dedicated to Mirtha
Pro Nails - Kid Sis

Enjoy
ps. yes i did go to ikea today and solve my desk chair problem

Great Scott

I am so tired from the Nuit Blanche madness that ensued last night.
And btw Paris...way to put on a mediocre at best event. Everything should be open until 7. Otherwise it's just not worth it.

So in the spirit of wanting to sleep I will share with you a song called sleep that I find beautiful, melodic, and haunting. The idea of the song is so right-before-you-fall-asleep when you're running over a conversation you had with someone who tickles your fancy, to use a very southern phrase.
Without further ado:

Sleep - Copeland

Deuxieme

What up? I just ate a tangerine and some bread and it was scrumptulescent.

I am tired of shitty electro being good. From now on I promise myself that if I go into any club and it is playing some s.e. I'll wait for two songs and then leave. My boycott of crappy clubs. I've heard alot of it and I'm tie-erd. I will show you what I mean with examples. First is a bad non-vocal electro jam. The second is an acceptable non-vocal electro jam.

Actually, scratch that. During my zshare wait time I decided to use different stuff. I'll give two bad ones cause I already uploaded the Chemical Brothers one.

Bad:
Don't Stop The Rock - The Chemical Brothers
2 Hearts (Destroy Disco Remix) - Kylie Minogue

Better:
Back Of The Van (Van She Tech Turbo Fire Engine Mix) - Ladyhawke

So you might be thinking to yourself..."why did I not feel the good song was any different?" If you thought that you haven't listened to enough electro. Plus...think if you were are a club and it was the same beat over and over. Which most are here. That one song has like... 3 breakdowns. And it is an excellent example of how a potentially boring intro/middle/end can be put together to form a comprehensive song. If you're going to play electro, play stuff like that and then throw in a mash-up once in a while. That will make the crowd happier. Hell, Katy Perry is hot right now. Why can't you just throw that in on top of a beat? You have like 3 parts of that song that can be sampled and sound different and could take up 3 to 4 min each of club time.
Here... if you're a dj and reading this I'll break that one down:
1. "Not my intention - Caught my intention"
2. "I Kissed a Girl"
3. "I'm in love tonight"
You listen to that and there are way too many things to sample over and over that you could play that song for
Nobody expects perfection from an in-house dj; they do expect something interesting.

There. If you have complaints about those tell me. I would also like to take this time to say that a band that makes crap can also make good music. Visa-Versa.

I'm sitting here trying to think of a list of stuff that, if I heard it at a club, would make that night the best night out ever...
But that will come soon enough. Can't spoil the fun on the second blog.

Now for some dedications to my homies.

P Cherry

RP

Colin (or anyone who likes Beirut and Outkast and would like to hear a collaboration)

And yes I have been waiting 2 hours for zshare to get back to working right. wow!
