Emotions

Before I release the best Mariah Carey remix ever made...

I'd like to say that there is no such remix and my topic is instead one of death and taxes.

Fooled you.

Start off with this song before I get too deep.

Nightdrive With You (sayCet Remix) - Anoraak (Get the Radiohead mix too[marc you'll like it alot i think])

So I've been trying over my post-pubescent years to figure out why I get this gut-wrenching feeling of disappointment after a good trip. Maybe it's a natural balance of a week-long high and a bottom out after that, but I feel like there's more to it than that. What leads me to that conclusion is the fact that I get this after different stuff than just trips and I don't get it sometimes that would be classified as a big high. Like sometimes when I go out to a club and hear some great music I like and have a blast, I don't get bummed out or nostalgic-feeling the next day. It just seems like there's always something missing after a great time. Like I've had the greatest time I could have had in a given situation (or at least close to it) and I still am missing something. I know I'm not the only person who gets this, but it's crushing when it comes around every once in a while. If you know about that holla.

It has a really similar feel to guilt, but I don't think there'd be any reason for me to feel guilty about anything that went down on the ski trip. I got drunk but I always remain conscious enough to know what I want or what I don't want rather.

Speaking of which, I had a close encounter with the second kind over the week. Sike. But I did learn that I don't like alcohol that much. It really is only good for relaxing and enjoying with a meal in small doses. When people (girls named Diane) get drunk they stay stuff like they want to bed with you... which is true subconsciously, but they'd never do it when they're completely level-headed... you get frustrated. Therefore, it's a cheat. Sobriety is the best way to carry on relationships of any kind, and I'm going to stick with that statement until I see a plethora of examples telling me otherwise (which i won't).

I don't know though, this day has been kinda refreshing. I've felt something without forcing myself for once in a while. So assuming that tomorrow I'll go back to Robot Ted tomorrow like normal, I'll just soak it in and try and convince myself that I can love something like snowboarding and miss the fact that I'm not loving someone like this girl Celia I met on the trip (who I would still like to have coffee with[unfortuntely, I can't speak the french I'd need to do that]).
"Just to show how fucked up the game can get..." I felt nothing when I saw this dead person laying out on the side of the road on the drive back. Huge ass wreck and at least one person who was just straight-up dead, bleeding on the highway. Nothing. I really tried to feel sad or nervous or worried like everyone else on the bus but zero. Get me some oil, my knee is rusting...

I would like to say that it's strange how a phone call can change your day...take you away (RJD2). Thanks to phillip for returning me to more normal characteristics. Always good to hear from your friends; good news, bad news, doesn't matter.

I wish I could find my humanity again and believe in the fire that people see in others. If you're out there, someone, set me on fire. (Ladyhawke Ddpesh remix) <--

PS. Bonus track is the new Cunninlynguists joint entitled Never Come Down (The Brownie Song). If you can make it through the last minute of the song without grooving to that sample, you lose at life. Cause this shit here!

Music

I got 3 songs that came up in a row today on Itunes.
All of which are fun and/or tight. (not to mention all in 320)

Which leads me to another point... I will never buy another thing from Itunes. 128? With my expanding 320kbps library, I've realized that the sounds of 128 are simply unacceptable.
WAV is what like 1411 kbps? That's what sound is recorded in initially after it's digitally processed. Why should anyone have to listen to something Much less than the artist hears it in the studio? Exactly, you shouldn't.
I realized the huge difference when I recently re-ripped the new Thrice albums in 320. I had ripped the first cd in 128 like I did with most of the rest of my library that comes from cds I've bought. When I get back home I'm taking all my Cds and re-ripping the music in 320 or at least 256. 128 simply sucks.

But without further ado:

Music (2008 Virtual Groove Dub Remix) - Madonna

Music Sounds Better Heaps Low (Flo Rida vs. Stardust) - Whack-A-Tone

Murder Goons - Dilla Ghost Doom

OH MY GOOSENESS!!

First off, a shout-out to my lil' sis (no not this one). She turned 18, er...16 for all yall creepy ass fools, a mere 30 minutes ago. So happy happy MAK!

And now... I will explain to you how to have one of the best nights in paris possible.

Step 1. Go to class
Step 2. Talk to a nice girl named Diane and just feel the vibes
Step 3. Bike completely across Paris to see the Alien Workshop premier of Mindfield
Step 4. Arrive early and go get a lamb gyro sandwich, eat it, re-enter the bar, get a pint, talk to some fools that you saw earlier, get some free alien workshop pins/buttons
Step 5. Watch a great skateboarding movie in which everyone kills it, despite this or injury
Step 6. Leave on your bike feeling great about the movie with some drunk fools making fun of you outloud intentionally talking junk about how you're "leaving alone and wearing shorts also! hahaha"
Step 7. Smile about it and start to bike back home
Step 8. Run into a guy that looks at you funny and is like "where you going?". He should have a blue fixie with a black zip 3 spoke wheel.
Step 9. Go with him and meet up with about 12 dudes that all have fixies that are going on a night ride.
Step 10. Go on a 20 km night ride with said dudes, have a blast, get stoked that you were invited to ride every thursday.
Step 11. Go home, eat a banana with alot of penut butter and write on your blog about your experience while listening to jazz.

One for M - Yoshiro Okazaki
a fun balad with plenty for everyone. love that walking bass, great sax, and a killer trumpet. oo those drums are crisp.

That was absolutely the definition of fun. That was one of the best times i've had in paris for sure and it all happened (the second part) by chance. wow. and man were there some nice bikes. 3 messengers (3 of the total of 5 that work on a fixed in paris) rode with us too and one guy had the nerve to ask me if i was a messenger in denver. I replied with a potent "not yet" knowing full well that I would love to become one but i also don't want to die real soon.

One might even say I am crunk right now.

As far as other awesome jams, I'll probably throw some up tomorrow for you.

Everyone should also see slumdog millionaire. Good movie Great movie. And that soundtrack was awesome with the exception of the use of the original Paper Planes version. (I know everyone likes that song, but it was forced...)

Step 12. End the night with this song:
It Never Entered My Mind - Miles Davis

Calm and Pretty

I tried to learn to wheelie tonight...sigh. I'll probably continue, but probably also won't get anywhere with it.

So after everyone has destroyed their minds and ears on that dumb mix, I felt like I owed something a little less insane in terms of music. This category would include many more than these 3 songs, but I only like posting the best...and everyone is probably tired of my love affair with Bloc Party.

I really love all three of these so I hope you will as well.

Heroes - Twiggy Frostbite

Find The Time (Plimsouls Remix) - Get Cape Wear Cape Fly

Indie Rokkers - MGMT

Heart is in the right place brain is in the dirt,

Ted

I Promised

And I'm a man of my word.

This is a not-high-quality encode from the WAV, so the quality will get better.

I'm planning on releasing it again within another week at 320 kbps so you will have it coming in loud and Clear. I've also decided I'm going to break it up into individual tracks as best as I can (cause alot of stuff is mixed in there over a longer period of time than just one little input). One because it'll make it alot easier to organize in Itunes for easy access to a part you like more than others.

I'm really tired of this project. Making something this big with virtual dj isn't something I'd wish on anyone that likes to make playlists of music for people to jam to. I listened to the new Risk One mix today and it's just on a different level. He does use less songs and does let them play longer (and he is a professional) but he just throws things in there that just make it hotter. I wish I had real equipment. Oh well...

I hope you enjoy this a little and give me some feedback for next week's version. I probably won't work on it until this weekend.

STWMTGBIAC Mix - DJ TK aka Terrible T

ps. it's 76 mb. so don't hurt yourself.

Annoying Things

This category has always included things like people talking too much, horrible laughs, getting stopped by police for no reason, people getting your order wrong, and taxes. Now I would like to include waking up for class, going, and then realizing that your class is canceled. You now have time to sit around and do nothing (or make a blog post) while you await your next class.

The trip to Lille and Brussels was pretty tight. Good archetecture, didn't spend too much money, and of course good beer and food.

Last night I went to PDG like I said I would and ended up saying that I'll never go there again. Unfortunately, a good burger in Paris costs 16 euros. That's like 19 dollars. That's also too much for a burger that isn't at least the size of your face. I mean, if you want a good burger, by all means, check it out, but if you are satisfied with a burger, just go to macdonalds. Or, if you're me, you'll start making burgers.

I'll probably post the STWMTGBIAC mix (or as is fitting, the completely-exhaust-yourself-listening-to-this mix) tomorrow.

I just thought everyone should see this: EPIC has been used to describe alot of things recently, (like Charles Barkley's mug shot) but this really takes the cake:

Enjoi

Edit: Another thing that is really annoying? The damn WMG copywrite stuff on Youtube. Automatic recognition software that just blocks happiness.

Travelling

I am going on a trip this weekend to Lille and Brussels. It should be fun. I don't know everything that's there, but I'm sure I'll find out quickly. I do know, however, that I will most likely bringing back some beer from brussels. They are master artisans, and I appreciate their art.

On the Mix update, virtual DJ has been freezing up on me. Imagine, a lame program is getting lamer by the day... However, it will be finished within 7 days. I promise.

Tomorrow, I pay for the ski trip and I will be able to stop worrying about whether or not I am going. This will also result in random excitement for the next 3 and a half weeks until the trip accompanied by feelings of paralyzing nervousness and genuine happiness.

In other news, Marc and I will eat at PDG (which like everything in France has a horrible website). Despite their web ineptitude, they make the best hamburger in Paris and some say in europe. We will see, PDG. If my cheeseburger doesn't look like this, we don't have a deal.

MUSIC!

I don't really have anything new to post, so I'll give you a bloc party jam I got a while ago

One Month Off (Metal On Metal Remake) - Bloc Party

and I'll go ahead and repost a song that I've been listening to every night for the past week

Planet Health - Chairlift

So that wraps it up. See ya in 5 days.

Late post:
I found this song randomly playing Itunes on shuffle. I like it and it's kinda fun. The video is cool too. He also sounds like Julian Casablancas of the Strokes which I'm sure is more recording technique than anything else, but whatever.

Honest Mistake - The Bravery

Locked Up (They won't let me out)

Because I am happy that I won't have any worries for at least a few days after thursday evening, I want to post some fun jams.

But first, cause I'm sure everyone wants to know about the bike sitch, I got a new lock, and DU ain't going to like it next year cause it's not a U-lock. I think I'd rather have a good chain lock than a cheap U-lock (which happen to cost only 10 euros different. Plus, I can lock up around bigger stuff and it would take me the same 10 minutes to get through those thick ass links as it did to get through my masterlock U. So I can rest easy now. And bike.

THE Mix is still fun and is still progressing nicely. I have a feeling it will let everyone down though, I can feel the excitement and anticipation roaring through the interwebs.

Musicality time.

The Old Prince Still Lives At Home - Shad

Eye Know - De La Soul

Say No Go - De La Soul
I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) - Hall & Oates

These Girls Are Dressed To Kill (Russ Chimes Remix) - The Outrunners
(Dedicated to Tony because it has the possibility of being a jam he would like.)

California Soul (Diplo/Mad Decent Remix) - Marlena Shaw

Good God. DO NOT Microwave your sponge in an attempt to use it for longer than you should by killing the bacteria. That smell is HORRIBLE! It caught on fire in my nuker and it's still lingering despite the two windows moving air out.

Because I don't want people to not dl because of the quantity, I won't post more. Oh, and Ryan, don't get the Outrunners' song. It's 18 mb which will surely be the demise of your Dude-You're-Getting-A-Computer.

As a BONUS: Because, I like Terry Kennedy, because he has my initials, and is a crazy black man, I will definitely not post a great song by his rival entitled placing you on game.

I'm also sorry that I still haven't figured out how to create separate tabs for each link. I tried the right HTML code, so I don't know what's up. Just continue to use that ctrl key and be mad at me
